Matia Divitt is an extraordinarily intuitive and skilled massage therapist. She discovered knots I didn't know I had, working each of them only as deeply as necessary without pushing me beyond my limits, allowing me to breathe through the discomfort and release much of the tension. Meeting a new body worker is always a bit of a crap shoot, you never know what you are going to get. I was absolutely blown away by Matia's skills. She was able to read me and adjust based upon tension she found in different parts of my body.
I carry heavy camera equipment in a sling for hours at a time on one shoulder and lift it using the other arm. These portions of my body do different things. Matia found they reqired different amounts of time devoted to them and different techniques to get them to relax. Often it seems like massage is based on time allocation for body parts not on resolving issues as they are found. Matia found my issues and gave my body the therapy it was asking for without my saying.
Matia implemented some breathing techniques during my massage. I found this was great at getting me into a peaceful meditative state prepared to receive her healing. Never have I found a healer so in tune with me. I came in a frazzled mess full of tension. I left feeling like a weight was lifted from me.
